The new Silver Jews record Lookout Mountain, Lookout Sea quietly came out this week, in what is a busy week of new releases. Check out the fantastic cover art! The album showcases yet another great set of songs from wordsmith David Berman. Vibe is more country this go around, and features more vocal partnering with his wife Cassie. As I've found to be typical of the Silver Jews, the songs sneak up on you both yrically and melodically. It's what they call 'a grower.' The lead Jew himself recently talked with PopMatters. Until just the last year or two, the guy never had toured before, but now he's become much more comfortable with it. Still no Twin Cities appearances yet, however.
