Gnarls Barkley, Black Crowes, Black Keys among Minnesota State Fair acts

A couple of years ago, the Minnesota State Fair was the unlikely venue for the fantastic pairing of The Flaming Lips and Sonic Youth. Whoever booked that show, should be promoted. Last year, nothing interesting showed up so I figured it was a one-time fluke but now comes news that this year's "Great Minnesota Get-Together" will feature a Gnarls Barkley concert (Aug 27) as well as a Black Crowes/Black Keys line-up (Aug 30). If you're curious, here's the full schedule of varied performers this year at the Grandstand. Beware, tickets look pricey.

Aug 21 - 3 Doors Down, Staind & Hinder (Wow!)
Aug 22 - Brad Paisley w/ Jewel
Aug 23 - The Backstreet Boys (wtf?)
Aug 24 - Buddy Guy w/ local hero Jonny Lang plus Big Head Todd & The Monsters (personal aside: Buddy Guy was my very first concert, and I once worked with Jonny Lang's sister!)

Aug 25 - Dierks Bentley & Miranda Lambert (Who are they?)
Aug 26 - Paramore & Phantom Planet
Aug 27 - Gnarls Barkley
Aug 28 - Mark Schultz (ditto, who is this guy?)
Aug 29 - A Prairie Home Companion w/ Garrison Keillor
Aug 30 - The Black Crowes & The Black Keys
Sept 1 - Ford Motors spokesman and American Patriot Toby Keith
