Bonnaroo weekend

The massive 4-day (& night) festival is probably hitting its stride on this Friday evening. Metallica plays tonight in what you might call a 'comeback' performance, and likely will feature a taste of their widely discussed new material. Not sure if the band is relevant anymore, but maybe I'm underestimating the fellas. Still, this festival is an odd forum. Are hippies and indie kids Metallica's target audience? See for yourself as AT&T Blue Room broadcasts live from Bonnaroo. Metallica is just now going on stage actually.

I know one thing that is certain. Afterwards hippies and hipsters will come together in harmony to see Bonnaroo legends My Morning Jacket finish out the night from midnight to 3am. Let's hope they DO NOT play 'Highly Suspicious.' What other festival routinely ends around 5am each night?! Fantastic. I've never made the trip to Tennessee for this thing but one of these years, I'll have to give it a shot.

The Current's representin' down there this year. Jill Riley is posting on The Current Blog throughout the weekend.
